The Glow Hub Promise
by Elise Parkes |
Pride Month is incredibly important, this month-long observance in June celebrates & supports LGBTQ+ people & and their rights, culture, and history.
However, we know that offering support to our LGBTQ+ community isn't just for pride season, and that our support needs to be constant, meaningful and purposeful all year round. From the people we work with (and the one's we won't!) to charity donations & inclusive language, this is how we promise to support the community all year long & the changes we’ll be making to be better allies.
INCLUSIVITY
We pride ourselves on being fun, diverse & inclusive, giving our audience gen z a platform to amplify their voice & create a community to talk about things they care about
Our promise: to always use our platform to elevate the voices of our community. Going forward we promise to speak out more, to highlight injustices against the LGBT+ community & offer our support.
GIFTING & PARTNERSHIPS
We’ve always worked really hard to ensure that the list of creators we work with (paid or gifted) is as diverse as our audience is. That will never change. We love working with proud LGBTQ+ creators on a wide variety of campaigns (not just during Pride), allowing our creators to be authentically themselves, giving them the creative freedom to make content that reflects their beliefs & who they really are.
There’s also a list of people we WON’T work with. From creators to brands, no matter their influence or reach, when it comes to inclusivity, if their beliefs don’t reflect ours, they immediately get put on the no-gift list.
Our promise: to continue doing just this. Reflecting on every gifting list & partnership to ensure the people we work with reflect the same beliefs & incredible diversity that our audience does.
LANGUAGE
Using LGBTQ+ inclusive language is a really important part of allyship, constructing a welcoming and trusted environment. From social captions to our TikTok lives, to the way we speak with each other & those around us in real life, we work hard to ensure we affirm, support & include.
Our promise: to continue to listen to the LGBTQ+ community and use language that is always inclusive & respectful. As of now, when sharing content from our community we will be adding pronouns to the captions.
CHARITY PARTNERSHIPS
Since our launch in 2020 we’ve always worked with LGTBQ+ charities. Having previously launched exclusive products with donations going to GLAAD, this year we’re working with The Proud Trust, an LGBT+ youth charity empowering young people to be proud of who they are.
Our promise: to continue working with charity partners all year round in meaningful ways, with a focus not just on donation but offering education & support too.
