How to build the perfect AM skincare routine
by lily tickle |
Building a skincare routine can be hard, ‘what products do I use In the morning?’ ‘What products will work best for my skin type?’ We get asked these questions along with many others allll the time. BUT building a routine that is perfectly tailored to fit your skin type and needs has just got A LOT easier… Treat Yourshelf is back!
We’ve created a set that includes products from across all our ranges, including bestsellers that everyone can mix and match and build the ultimate routine. Let’s get the glow down...
The ultimate AM skincare routine
First things first! Pop on our must-have headband to tame back the hair away from the face (a saviour if it isn’t hair-washing day!). We love our Glow Hub Purify & Brighten jelly cleanser, especially in the AM as it has black tea to brighten and glycerin to soothe and hydrate, even if you’re getting your skin glowing at the crack of dawn. Take it one step further and remove the cleanser with the included facial mitt to add a level of gentle exfoliation to your routine.
To tone or not to tone…
Some use toners some do not, we personally cannot get enough of them! In the morning we reach for the Nourish & Hydrate toner essence. If the smell of summery, tropical paradise doesn’t wake your skin up in the morning, the radiance-boosting peach extract and the refreshing coconut water is sure to do the trick! Plus+, we added hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate the skin as aloe vera leave it irresistibly soft.
What serums should I use in the morning?
Treat Yourshelf includes 3 of our fave ever Glow Hub serums! In the AM we love to use Scar Slayer as it has skin-brightening ingredients such as l-ascorbic (vit C) and tranexamic acid. These are a must if you tend to wake up to see dull, tired-looking skin, not only will it leave your skin looking bright and healthy but it will also get to work on those post-breakout marks, hyperpigmentation, melasma – the works.
If you aren’t already using Barrier Builder in your AM routine… WHY? Our skin barrier health determines a lot of the issues we may see with our skin such as areas of flakey skin, more breakouts, dull and overall unhealthy looking skin. Protecting your skin barrier first thing in the morning will set you up for skin success - it also layers BEAUTIFULLY under makeup and leaves an undeniable glow for those fresh-faced days!
Which moisturiser should I be using?
Skincare is not a 1 size fits all, so we had to include 2 moisturisers for you to choose from. The set includes our Calm & Soothe Cool Whip Moisturiser which is perfect for stressed-out, sensitive skin. However, we tend to reach for the Purify & Brighten Moisture Lotion in the AM. It is a dream If you are looking for a moisturiser that is packed full of vitamins and antioxidants to brighten, protect, and correct uneven skin tone. Is that not what everyone NEEDS from their AM moisturiser?
If you feel like your skin just doesn’t hold moisture throughout the day, our top tip to tackle this is a quick spritz of either 2 of the serum mists that are included in the set. The Calm & Soothe and Nourish & Hydrate serum mists are guaranteed to add moisture back into the skin and leave you GLOWING. It may be too early in the year to tell you this but try putting the serums mists in the fridge on hot days for an instant hit of cooling hydration. – It won’t disappoint.
The beauty of Glow Hub is that it is sooo easy to customise and build a routine to work in harmony with your skin type and concerns. Treat Yourshelf is THE set to help build or perfect any skincare routine and of course TREAT YOURSHELF!
