What is bacne?... HINT: its normal
by lily tickle |
‘Bacne’ or back acne is exactly what it sounds like – acne on the back. But what causes bacne? Well, it is different for everybody, but the main causes are the same as acne on our faces, so you’d think you can treat it by using your acne face wash, right? WRONG!
Can I use face wash on back acne?
Well, you could, but you probably won’t see the best results. The skin on our faces is different to that on our bodies. The skin on our back has a thicker epidermis (outer layer of the skin) and as a result, will need higher percentages of your fave acne-beating ingredients to effectively treat bacne. Enter: Beat The Bacne Body Wash.
So how do I treat back acne?
Bacne is VERY common but because it Is not always visible, it is not talked about enough! We found that there just weren’t enough products targeted specifically towards bacne. Since our Glow Hub purify & brighten jelly cleanser is our breakout go-to we decided to create a version of this but formulated for the body with white willow bark and salicylic acid for a deep clean to gently exfoliate, unclog and resurface.
Bacne top tips:
- Massage your bacne cleanser into the skin for 1 minute! This helps break down acne-causing sebum and ensures a deep pore cleanse
- Shower as soon as possible after working out
- Try to avoid rinsing shampoo/ conditioner directly on your back, yes this can result in a breakout!
- Same goes for any hair products e.g. hairspray – try to avoid this getting in contact with the skin
- Exfoliate!
